Lt. Choi Won’t Lie for His Country
Lt. Dan Choi doesn’t want to lie. Choi, an Iraq war veteran and a graduate of West Point, declared last March 19 on “The Rachel Maddow Show,” “I am gay.” Under the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” regulations, those three words are enough to get Choi kicked out of the military.

FREE DVDs FOR CURRICULUM IDEAS
In response to hundreds of e-mails from teachers, professors, administrators, students and community activists, Democracy Now! is building a FREE, web-based resource bank for teachers that offers stimulating curricula ideas and materials for a variety of disciplines and levels of education. This page will evolve with a “for educators, by educators” philosophy—a virtual space where educators can submit and share curricula that incorporate Democracy Now!. Learn more about how you can get the DVD of your choice free for submitting curriculum to our database.

We offer a 50% discount on all DVDs/CDs and VHS copies of Democracy Now! from our online store to any educator who would like to use a DN! program in their classroom. When you place your order in our store and are ready to checkout, please specify in the “Additional Instructions” field that you are an educator and should receive a 50% discount on your DVD/CD or VHS order.
