Democracy Now! is seeking a full-time Director of Development to help diversify and expand its funding. Founded in 1996, and based in Manhattan, Democracy Now! is a national, daily, independent award-winning news program that is broadcast throughout the country, bringing perspectives rarely heard in the U.S. corporate sponsored media (See democracynow.org for additional information).
Democracy Now! is seeking a talented and experienced development professional to lead efforts to further diversify and expand funding with an emphasis on: (a) new foundation supporters and maximally successful renewals of current grants, and (b) individual donors, through email, online, special events, telemarketing, and major gifts.
The Director of Development will report directly to the General Manager, will work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, will supervise staff who work on major donor, mail and online giving programs, and will provide overall direction, coordination, and implementation of the organization’s fund-raising operations.
